pP{70wi} is a small vector for P element-mediated germline transformation. We have not yet used this vector in transformation. However, two other labs have reported problems obtaining transformants with pP{70w}. We haven't determined what the source of this difficulty is. We have used this hsp70::white cDNA in other constructs, and it works well in our hands. However, we've now inserted an intron back into white, in the hopes that this will increase expression.
